Hi, I am in the process of setting up a web site for mobile (cell) phone users (www.mobyaddicts.com/php). The homepage will display members own funny homemade mobile 3gp videos, with 2 options, download to mobile or PC.
I know nothing about scripting etc and have had the work so far done by someone else who has since dissapeared off the planet? Iam looking for a quote to finish it .
Left to do, Here goes....
1/ build a custom module,
Here is my best explanation...
Users will be able to submit their mobile 3gp videos (similar example)
(www.phpnukevideo.com/modules.php?name=Video&op=submit_video) with accompanying stories on the site, or MMS their videos to vids@mobyaddicts.com and I will submit them (I have put a couple of examples of submited videos on the site)
The stories will be in plain text without urls html etc. (limited in size) and will be submited on the site (in a similar way to submit news on php nuke) or by MMS to the email address and submitted by me.
the submitting video user can then pick a topic for the video to go under. (Stupid/Freaky/Sweet/Rejects/Crazy/Messages/Sexy)
How it works..
The user submits video, writes a short story about it and chooses the category (as above)
When they attempt to submit the video the following text appears “You must get permission from anyone featured in your video before sending it, for full T&Cs see Legal. Videos also need to be a maximum of 1MB” .
The Administrator then checks story and video are suitable adds any code (for downloading to mobile)(I can supply an example of this code from my content distributer) and if ok submits.
The submitted video & story then appear in the homepage, with a thumbnail view of the video (a still of the video)
The video will have “download to mobile and download to PC” options. Only registered users to be able to download to PC, (any visitor able to download to mobile)
The homepage will display 15 or so submitted videos with stories, then they will archive in their respective catagories.
Every time a video is downloaded to mobile there is a counter that tracks it (downloaded 123 times) so I can give prizes for videos that get downloaded enough times (eg 1000).
Once a site user has watched a video they can then rate it, and add comments (if registered).
If possible a top 20 downloaded to mobile catagory section too.
2/ Set up forum so i can start posts
3/ Edit modules block, I have php platinum installed, and I cant work out how to delete unecissary headings and titles, I can list for you.
4/Make my site available on mobyaddicts.com not just mobyaddicts.com/php - I can give you ftp passwords etc.
5/Shout Box - not showing correctly?
6/ Do you know of a downloads module available where users can submit files rather than links to urls for my mobile software share area?
7/Once complete, check the site over to ensure it all works, latest security etc.
