HI there. I'm looking for any kind of assistance in getting started on a module that will read an XML site, save the information to mySQL and allow me to use it at will on a phpNuke (7.6?) site. Simple code, not too elaborate - it's a new realm of possibilities for me and I'm just getting started.
I'm guessing that the data itself is always the same structure? As long as it isn't constantly changing, a script to write to a table would not be hard.
Would you need code automatically download that data and put it into the database? After the database, do you need a phpNuke module to view this data? _________________ Evaders99 Webmaster Administrator Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.

Once the data is in the database, I can manipulate it and do anything I want with it. But, I have no clue how to "read XML" and that is my issue. I had a program that accessed the Sony site and downloaded the information I wanted, but they recently changed to XML for their information and now I have to figure out XML reading.
Database structure is optional - as long as it fits into phpNuke table structure.
P.S. - I'm assuming Sony will not change the format of the XML pages. But, with Sony, one can never be sure of anything. Shall we hope it stays the same for now? I can use whatever you come up with to learn a bit about reading XML and perhaps can keep it up to date with whatever Sony comes up with?
Alright, it probably won't change - but if it does, you should have the basics to edit the script. I'll work on it and see if I can get something to you this week _________________ Evaders99 Webmaster Administrator Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.

P.S. - Usually, I love learning new things. However, I have a 14 week old baby that consumes my life, now. Don't have time to sit at the computer 24x7x365, anymore.
I'll send you a link to test by PM _________________ Evaders99 Webmaster Administrator Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.
